I days maybe 18 months ago that the Philippines was starting to distance itself from the USA, having concluded the US works but provide adequate protection and the relationship was becoming troublesome. I hear them that the Philippines was buying military hardware from Russia, including small ships is I remember correctly. Now comes need of joint drills. How will this position the Philippines with China, which Russia has a military alliance with? Watch this space
