UK D-Notices to Go Worldwide

Google and the British government are working together to sweep websites into Orwell's memory hole. It is a joint effort that will soon go worldwide as the global elite continue to build and refine their censorship apparatus.

Google told The Telegraph today that national security is "the single biggest category" among the reasons cited for scrubbing pages from Google search results. Google's Daphne Keller flew to the UK to testify before the the Leveson Inquiry and said her company had cooperated with the British government in 82 per cent of cases. PM David Cameron established the inquiry in the wake of the News International telephone hacking scandal last year.

The collaboration between Google and the British government is reminiscent of practices established under the so-called D Notice system, a modernized version of the Official Secrets Act used to censor political speech. Newspaper and periodical editors now routinely check with the government's D Notice Committee before publishing information, a process that operates as de facto self-censorship.

The D Notice system was used in the Dr. Kelly case. Kelly was suicided after he accused the British government of planting in a dossier a questionable claim that WMDs could be released from Iraq within 45 minutes.

Earlier in the week, a former Soros Open Society minion and Stanford University scholar called on Google to act as a thought crime enforcer by providing warnings about websites that contain "conspiracy theories" such as the belief, held by a majority of Americans, that global warming is not primarily man-made.

As Paul Joseph Watson noted on Tuesday, the call by Evgeny Morozov to render the internet politically correct according to the dictates of the global elite and their bureaucrats is similar to an argument made by Obama's science czar, Cass Sunstein, to force websites to carry warnings if they post content deemed inappropriate by the government.

In keeping with its mission to surveil and track and trace its users - allegedly for commercial purposes - Google has announced that it will follow the activities of users across nearly all of its ubiquitous sites, including YouTube, Gmail and its leading search engine, according to theWashington Post. Consumers won't be able to opt out of the changes, which take effect March 1.

Popular social networking site Facebook also tracks and traces users and keeps the data. In September, hacker and writer Nik Cubrilovic posted information on his blog revealing that Facebook keeps track of every website users visit, even when they are logged out of the site.

The latest Google revelations arrive as the Department of Homeland Security presents a white paper on its "evolving mission" to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

"Crafted by the Aspen Institute Homeland Security Group, co-chaired by former DHS chief Michael Chertoff and composed of a who's who of national security figures, the report outlines a total mission creep, as the title 'Homeland Security and Intelligence: Next Steps in Evolving the Mission' implies," writes Aaron Dykes for Infowars.com.

The paper proposes a transition from focusing on traditional terrorism to intelligence gathering and surveillance of supposed domestic threats. "Achieving this new aim includes co-opting local law enforcement and other regional agencies," Dykes notes.

Obama's DHS wants to build "a new analytic foundation that emphasizes data" and related systems that will integrate all aspects of law enforcement, including those on the local level. The DHS proposal, in other words, continues and accelerates the federalization of state and local law enforcement, a process that picked up steam during the Clinton administration in the 1990s.

The modern Stasi surveillance state and a government mandated and corporately enforced Ministry of Truth naturally go hand-in-hand as the globalists move to complete their totalitarian overlay designed to control humanity.

Increasingly, it can be argued that the internet and an array of ubiquitous technological devices were specifically designed and manufactured to facilitate the control mandates of the surveillance state.

Google's high-tech D-notice technology - delisting and outright censoring websites deemed offensive by our rulers - is a less obtrusive version of the Great Firewall of China, a sprawling network of filters designed to craft information to the overriding prerogatives of an authoritarian and totalitarian state.

US-Australia treaty: 'Cyber is the battlefield of the future,' Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says

Freedom of speech is a vital thing. It has been increasingly legislated against by supposed democracies such as USA, Canada, Australia & N.Z. 

These countries also conduct extensive siphoning and data mining of communications, including fixed & mobile phones, email and other internet based activities. There is no privacy.

In addition to removing privacy, there are of course moves to limit free speech and access to the Internet. I support moves to deal with pornography, but not at the expense of freedom of speech. Time has repeatedly proved that governments cannot be trusted with this kind of power.

With that said, this is an interesting article about US/AU cooperation on cyber security. It concerns me that AU enters into significant international agreements without consultation and approval from the people the government is supposed to serve.

SAN FRANCISCO — U.S. and Australian officials have decided to include cooperation on cyber security as part of their defense treaty, marking the first time the Obama administration has formally carved out that kind of partnership with a country outside NATO.

The agreement is particularly critical considering the ongoing cyber threat emanating from the Pacific region, especially China and North Korea. It also reflects the Obama administration's stated goals earlier this year to work aggressively with other nations to combat cyber crime, improve law enforcement cooperation against cyber terrorists and hackers, and create broad international policies to help make the Internet more secure.
"Cyber is the battlefield of the future," Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Wednesday. "We are all going to have to work very hard not only to defend against cyber attacks, but to be aggressive with regards to cyber attacks as well."
The best way to accomplish that goal is to work with allies such as Australia, Panetta told reporters traveling with to California. Panetta and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton were to meet Thursday in San Francisco with their Australian counterparts for their annual talks on security cooperation.
Cyber security is just one element of the efforts by U.S. and Australian officials to expand their defense cooperation in the tumultuous Pacific region, where both China and North Korea have moved aggressively to increase their military posture.
Officials expect to announce the expanded cooperation during the bilateral meetings.
U.S. and Australian leaders are also expected to make progress on an agreement to allow the United States to expand its military presence in Australia, including positioning U.S. equipment there, increasing American access to bases, and conducting more joint exercises and training. The plan could allow the U.S. to use port facilities.

U.S. officials said they are not looking to establish any American bases in Australia, but instead want increased military access and cooperation that will allow the U.S. to broaden its posture in the restive region.
The decision to add cyber space to the two nations' bilateral treaty, along with every other warfighting domain, would clarify that the two allies will work together in the event of a computer-related attack.
A senior defense official said the move would underscore that the existing security cooperation between the U.S. and Australia would apply in a digital attack, just as it would in a bombing or other kinetic assault. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the decision has not yet been announced.
NATO allies have already included cyber space in their security framework.
While the problem of cyber threats from China is not new, the Pentagon's 2010 report on the state of Beijing's military publicly laid out those worries in greater detail. It said that numerous computer systems around the world, including those owned by the U.S. government, continued to be the target of intrusions that appear to have originated within the People's Republic of China.
Those attacks, the report said, "focused on exfiltrating information, some of which could be of strategic or military utility." It warned that the Chinese military is using civilian computer experts in clandestine cyber attacks aimed at American companies and government agencies.
Cyber security experts, meanwhile, have said that North Korea or its sympathizers were likely responsible for a cyber attack against South Korean government and banking websites earlier this year.
An analysis by computer security software maker McAfee Inc. concluded that the attack that targeted more than two dozen sites in South Korea was a type of reconnaissance mission to see how quickly South Korea's government detected the problem and recovered from it.
The McAfee report also said the attack appears to have been linked to the massive computer-based assault in 2009 that brought down U.S. government Internet sites
Cyber criminals, unfriendly nation states and terrorists are routinely using the Internet to steal money, ferret out classified secrets and technology, and attempt to disturb or destroy critical networks. Officials say they must work more closely together to protect government and corporate networks, including those that control critical infrastructure, ranging from the electrical grid and telecommunications networks to nuclear power plants and transportation systems.
The White House released its international cyber security strategy in May, as part of an effort to improve cooperation on global cyber crime and set guidelines for Internet oversight.
Cyber security experts have argued that the Internet cannot become a safer place until nations implement international agreements that better define and regulate cyber crime, provide oversight of the Internet, and set out new standards and rules for industry as it increasingly moves its business into the largely ungoverned online world.

Bill Clinton Calls For Internet ‘Ministry of Truth’

Mr Bill “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” Clinton, a man who knowingly lied to the nation on live television at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, has called for the creation of an Internet ‘ministry of truth’ style organization that would be run by the federal government or the UN to address “misinformation and rumors floating on the Internet.”


Couching the idea in the kind of doublespeak rhetoric that would make George Orwell roll in his grave, Clinton said that the agency would have to be “independent” and “transparent,” but that it would be created and run by the federal government – a complete oxymoron.
The former president said that the organization “Would have to be an independent federal agency that no president could countermand or anything else because people wouldn’t think you were just censoring the news and giving a different falsehood out.”
No matter how many fluffy, friendly and democratic words he attaches to the proposal, Clinton is basically calling for the creation of a state-run media outlet in the mold of Communist China. He says it should operate like, “National Public Radio or BBC or something like that, except it would have to be really independent and they would not express opinions, and their mandate would be narrowly confined to identifying relevant factual errors.”
In other words, as his wife Hillary bemoaned recently, the US military-industrial complex is “losing the information war” to independent media outlets and something needs to be done to redress the balance because too many people are stumbling across that habitual irritant to the power elite – the truth.
Despite admitting that the organization would have “no credibility whatever, particularly with a lot of the people who are most active on the internet,” Clinton said that such an agency was necessary to counter “misinformation and rumors floating on the Internet,” reports Politico.
This is Cass Sunstein’s “cognitive infiltration” on steroids. Harvard law professor Sunstein, Obama’s information czar, has demanded websites be mandated by law to link to opposing information or that prescription cialis generic pop ups containing government propaganda be forcibly included on political blogs.
In a 2008 article published in the Journal of Political Philosophy, Sunstein outlined a plan for the government to stealthily infiltrate groups that pose alternative theories on historical events via “chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and Kamagra attempt to undermine” those groups.
On page 14 of Sunstein’s January 2008 white paper entitled “Conspiracy Theories,” he proposed that “under imaginable conditions” the government “might ban conspiracy theorizing” and could “impose some kind of tax, financial or otherwise, on those who disseminate such theories.”
Sunstein’s definition of “conspiracy theories” includes ideas shared by the majority of American people, such as the notion that the JFK assassination occurred as part of a wider plot, as well as the belief that the threat of global warming has been hyped by governments and global institutions. Both of these ideas would be examples of thought crime under Sunstein’s regime.
Bill Clinton’s call for a government-run ministry of truth is a brazen attempt to implement Sunstein’s dangerous anti-free speech agenda.
During Hillary’s call for the empire to strike back in the information war, she made particular reference to Russia Today as well as media platforms, and the fact that they were “winning” because they actually dared to act like “real news” organizations, asking questions of authority and investigating stories, and not like the US mainstream press, which acts as nothing more than an obedient, supine clearinghouse for government propaganda.
Russia Today, which regularly provides a voice to the likes of Alex Jones, Max Keiser, Wayne Madsen, Paul Craig Roberts and Webster Tarpley, has played an instrumental role in filling the gaps left by the castrated US corporate media by reporting on real news issues and actually having the temerity to question talking points put out by the White House – this is what the Clintons both want to see neutralized with a new ministry of truth run by the feds.
Indeed, when Russia Today attempted to put up promotional billboards in US airports encouraging viewers to think about both sides of a story, the ads were summarily banned.
That’s exactly why the likes of Bill and Hillary Clinton are demanding a more aggressive psychological warfare assault on the American people – they want to create an unthinking mass that instantly accepts what they are told by government as the absolute truth, despite the fact that the US government itself has proven itself to be the pre-eminent global leader in lies and deceit, while all dissenting voices will be crushed under Cass Sunstein’s thought crime information blockade.
